As kids, my brother and I had the great opportunity of growing up in a household where creativity and artistic expression were encouraged.
Our early years were spent watching our dad, a Disney storybook illustrator and freelance artist, work on creating beautiful and whimsical illustrations. There are four kids in our family, and every one of us caught the art bug.
We all went on to become artists in illustration, design, and animation, and are super passionate about our craft. As artists who found ourselves working on our iPads all the time, we realized, as cool as they are, they weren’t exactly optimized for a comfortable drawing experience.

So we created the SketchSlate, a simple and sleek design optimized for your personal art experience. Created by hand in our workshop garage in Oceanside, CA, we put love and finesse into every board. As a family-owned business, we are all super involved in the process, and we hand test and examine every board ourselves.
